Brenda J. Waters graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park with a B.S. in Family Counseling and Sociology. She did her graduate work at American University where she received a Masters in Public Relations. She has spent her career in public broadcasting beginning with her first position in Richmond, Virginia as an evening anchor and general assignment reporter. She has had a long and meaningful career in Pittsburgh, first with WPXI-TV and then KDKA-TV. Brenda’s passion has always been reporting on good deeds and people who make a difference. For many years she hosted a feature segment on KDKA called “On A Positive Note,” where she featured positive news stories. Her work on those stories earned her an Emmy in 1996.
