Veterans Place is dedicated to serving post 9/11 veterans to support and assist in obtaining competitive employment. The Veterans
Place Post 9/11 Employment Program is in place to specifically support post 9/11 veterans experiencing employment insecurities. From resume- building and training to obtaining competitive employment, this program supports all post 9/11 veterans regardless of discharge status.
The Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program (HVRP) is an employment-focused competitive grant program of the Department of Labor, Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL-VETS), the only federal grant to focus exclusively on competitive employment for homeless veterans. Veterans Place serves veterans in seven counties; Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Westmoreland, and Washington county.
This evidence-based job placement program is geared for low income, economically disadvantaged, and at-risk veterans and families. The concentration is specifically in and around Allegheny County and the city of Pittsburgh. Our success in this program is due in part to assisting veterans with basic needs and services including paying for expenses such as tools, work transportation, insurance, or other job-related essentials. Our placement partners include local companies that pay a competitive rate. Veterans have achieved success in a variety of careers including but not limited to food service, trucking, and mechanics
