February’s Veteran of the Month

American flag on grey background

The Veterans Place’s Veteran’s Workforce Development Program is proud to announce Veteran Mahone as Veteran of the Month for February 2020.

Veteran of the Month MahonVeteran Mahone has a passion for serving and helping people going back to his service in the Army. During his enlistment, he studied to become a Medical Specialist and served attached to a Field Hospital. He continued his studies, earning an Associate of Science in Medical Assisting Management as well as a Dialysis Technician Certification.

Because he had a name change early in life, Veteran Mahone was having a difficult time obtaining his transcript and VA benefits. Employment Specialist Sherman Jones, working along with a Veteran Attorney, helped Veteran Mahone through the process of getting all his federal benefits and education transcripts.

Veteran Mahone had been working diligently to find a position that would allow him to express his desire to help others and further his educational goals. He has found a great job and will be enrolled again in school for the upcoming fall semester to earn his Bachelor of Science. We want to thank Veteran Mahone for representing our military and the veteran community in such an honorable way!
