Supporting Pittsburgh’s Veterans This Holiday Season
As the holiday season draws near, Pittsburgh residents have a meaningful way to honor and support those who have served our nation. Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard is making a difference by offering vital, free medical services. Additionally, this year, Veterans Place is benefiting from the Holiday Spectacular Light Show—a festive event that contributes directly to their mission of aiding local veterans.
Wellness Center: Free Medical Services for Veterans
Veterans Place now hosts the Wellness Center, which provides free medical screenings and support for veterans not eligible for VA healthcare benefits. Open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon, the center offers:
- No out-of-pocket costs: Services are completely free to veterans, ensuring access for all.
- Confidential medical care: Veterans can receive care in a private, secure environment.
- Vaccination services: Essential vaccines are available to keep veterans healthy.
- Medical screenings and referrals: On-site screenings help veterans stay ahead of potential health issues, with referrals provided to AHN for follow-up care.
- Medicaid application services: Assistance is available for veterans navigating healthcare benefits.
Located at 945 Washington Boulevard, the Wellness Center is a welcoming space designed to support veterans’ well-being. No appointment is necessary—veterans can simply walk in and receive care from professional medical staff.
The Holiday Spectacular
Adding a festive touch to the season, Veterans Place is honored to be a beneficiary of the Holiday Spectacular Light Show. This event, held at Pittsburgh’s North Park, is a drive-through display of lights, synchronized to holiday music. Families from all over the region can enjoy this magical experience while knowing their tickets are helping veterans in need.
Proceeds from the event support organizations like Veterans Place, enabling them to continue offering life-changing programs like transitional housing, employment services, and addiction recovery support.
