“It was a relief when Kendall got there. I could tell there was a low lift even from him. He hadn’t had a haircut in 4 months, I mean, he had no money coming in. When I tell you, all of his social determinants of health are really being met here; they are really being met. I’m just amazed, and I guess you could say veterans and taking care of veterans.
And even once my son gets to the place that he moves on, I will still support. I still want to keep the relationship with them. I wanna give, just because I know you pay it forward. You know all the things they poured into my son in less than 90 days; how do you not want to give back?”
Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard provides supportive services for veterans experiencing housing instability, recovery challenges, and barriers to long-term stability. Through housing support, outreach, case management, recovery services, and community-based resources, the organization works closely with veterans to help them access the care, structure, and support they need to move forward.
