Veterans Place is Working on their CARF Accreditation

Veteran Banner

In order to continue to serve the Veterans in our region with the best resources and assistance in transitioning out of homelessness, we are excited to announce that we are working on earning our CARF Certification.

What is CARF?

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, or CARF, is an independent accrediting body of health and human services. The CARF standards have been developed by over 50 years by international teams comprised of policymakers, payers, family members, service providers, and consumers.

CARF International’s standards have also been submitted to the public to validate the relevancy of the standards and to ensure that input is given by all stakeholders. The CARF International Accreditation provides the public with a visible symbol of an organization’s commitment to continually enhance the quality of their programs and service, focusing on the satisfaction of the people they serve.

Importance of the CARF Accreditation for Veterans Place

After completing the extensive accreditation process through CARF, which includes having out organization surveyed by a team that looks at our ability to conform to all applicable CARF Standards. This evaluation is done by observing our services, interviewing those we serve as well as stakeholders, and documentation review. This team of surveyors will also provide our personnel with consultations.

After this survey is done, CARF will decide to render accreditation, and within 90 days, they will require us to submit a Quality Improvement Plan that outlines the actions we have taken or will take in response to any areas of improvement the survey identified. During our accreditation tenure, we will maintain contact with CARF and will be required to submit an Annual Conformance to Quality Report every year to ensure we are maintaining CARF standards.

The CARF accreditation is our commitment to continuously improving our programs and services to ensure our Veterans receive the high-quality care they deserve.
