Veteran Artist of the Month

Veteran Tyrese, U.S. Air Force

Veteran Tyrese regularly attends the expressive arts group and has an interest in writing music. In his first group, he used copper foil to create this foil embossing of praying hands. He works carefully with specific intent and an eye for detail. Faith and gratitude have been recurring themes in his work. It took Veteran Tyrese several weeks before he felt comfortable sharing his song writing. He typically writes rap lyrics and certainly has a talent for both writing and rapping the metered lines. His song, Don’t Lose Faith, perfectly reflects the praying hands or perhaps the praying hands perfectly reflects the song!

Don’t Lose Faith

Sometimes God seem far away. You may wonder if he hear when you pray, still don’t lose faith. Friends let you down time after time and the devil playing tricks with your mind, still don’t lose faith. The world crazy and it’s only getting worse some even getting hurt by the church still don’t lose faith. Please don’t lose faith.

I know what it’s like to try to live right. Get abused for your efforts and want to give up the fight. Get conflicting information and start doubting the Christ. Or have a dance with the devil and start paying the price. The wage of sin is death, so many dying slow. The seed of God is in you but it’s hard for it to grow. Cause the cares of this world are set up to leave you low…I know stay on your toes.

Watching the wicked prosper will make you think that it’s proper. I pray the spirit stop ya and let you know what is real. There is no better place to be then in God’s will. When times are overwhelming I suggest you be still. And I know that he is God for him nothings too hard and he sure to make a way if you only play your part. Just remember suffering is part of the plan. Google the scriptures on it you’ll understand.

I ain’t gon lie I get mad too. Been through a lot of things wish I ain’t had to. I won’t say I feel your pain cause I ain’t in your shoes. Wondering who to blame I be so confused. Talking to God like are you sure there wasn’t another way and I get so low that I don’t wanna see another day. And yeah pray but sometimes they don’t go away. What can I say but the devil want us go astray. Jesus Christ he is so the way.

Believe in him God promises us better days. So hold on to his unchanging hand. And his thoughts ain’t our thoughts so we may never understand. The wickedness we face as we walk upon the land but the one who formed the world has to surely have a plan. And it’s working for a good no matter how it feels. When facing lifes ills look to the one who can heal.
