Your Memorial Day Mission: Support Local Veterans

As Memorial Day approaches, Veterans Place is preparing to honor the men and women who have died serving our country in the U.S. military. Memorial Day, formerly known as Decoration Day, was first meant to honor the Confederate and Union soldiers who died during the American Civil War.

In the 1900s, it had become a day to celebrate all of the American soldiers who died while serving in the U.S. military. In 1967, Decoration Day was legally changed to be called Memorial Day, which we now traditionally celebrate on the last Monday of May.

Support and Honor Our Veterans on May 25th

Many celebrate Memorial Day with picnics and cookouts. We ask that amid your celebrations, you take a moment to join our community of supporters and donate to veterans in need.

At Veterans Place, we provide homeless veterans with vital skills and a healthy environment to thrive. From food and clothing to transitional housing and education assistance, your generous donations will directly benefit veterans who need it the most.

Donate Today to Help Pittsburgh Veterans

Our community of supporters is filled with many generous and compassionate people that we are proud to have in our corner. Please make a Memorial Day donation to honor a loved one who served.

The challenges of COVID-19 have created an even more urgent situation for homeless veterans living on the streets and in shelters. There are many veterans’ lives who depend on your support. Help to end homelessness among veterans in Pittsburgh by donating today.
Thank you for your support. We wish you a happy and safe Memorial Day!
