What Programs are There for Female Veterans

Female Veteran

At Veterans Place, we recognize how important it is to support our female veterans. Since 2019, we have operated the Female Veteran Program as part of our mission to provide comprehensive support and services to female veterans in the Pittsburgh area.

The main objective of this program is to gather women veterans and bring them together to form a community of military women while providing them with the resources they need to be successful. Through our Female Veteran Program, we highlight the service of women veterans at every opportunity.

Veterans Place recognizes that many women veterans have experienced violence and trauma that can have a life-altering impact on their mental health and their quality of life. Also, there are barriers specific to female veterans that we understand and know need to be addressed.

Through our Female Veteran Program, we are working to inspire women to find their way through their darkness by helping them discover their meaning and purpose beyond the pain they have experienced. This is done by addressing the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of each woman veteran in our program.

At Veterans Place, the Female Veteran Program aims to empower women by motivating them to acknowledge their strengths and cultivate their most authentic selves.

The program works with women to develop individualized goals based on interpersonal values that can provide the stepping stones to help them achieve a life of meaning and purpose.

The Female Veteran Program at Veterans Place offers multiple avenues to assist our female veteran clients including case management, some emergency financial assistance, female specific resources, a female veteran group, comradery and community with other female veterans and activities focused directly on the needs of our female veterans.
