Veterans Place Announces August Golf Outing and Community Day to Support Local Veterans

PITTSBURGH, PA – Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard is inviting the community to support local veterans through two special events this August: the RAMP Foundation Charity Golf Outing on Aug. 4 and Veterans Place Community Day on Aug. 14.

Together, these events provide opportunities for community members to support veterans while helping raise awareness of Veterans Place’s mission to end veteran homelessness. Veterans Place serves more than 1,100 veterans each year through transitional housing, workforce development, recovery support services, mentorship, outreach, and case management.

The RAMP Foundation Charity Golf Outing will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Grand View Golf Club100% of the proceeds from the outing will benefit Veterans Place. Participants will enjoy a day of friendly competition, contests, refreshments, and a post-event buffet, all while helping provide housing, employment assistance, and supportive services for veterans in the community.

“The RAMP Foundation Charity Golf Outing is a great example of what can happen when a community comes together to support those who have served our country,” said Kevin Kordzi, Executive Director of Veterans Place. “Every golfer, sponsor, and donor plays a role in helping us continue providing veterans with the resources they need to build stable, successful futures.”

Veterans Place will host Community Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, at its campus located at 945 Washington Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. The event is open to veterans, with advance registration required.

Community Day will feature food trucks, games, raffle prizes, andVeterans Place Announces August Golf Outing and Community Day to Support Local Veterans opportunities for veterans to connect with Veterans Place staff and local community organizations. Scheduled food vendors include Hot Ash Wood Fired Pizza and Funky Funnels, with one additional food vendor expected to be announced.

“Community Day is all about bringing veterans together in a welcoming environment where they can connect while learning about the many resources available to them,” said Jessica Gilmore, Director of Operations and Development at Veterans Place. “We look forward to welcoming veterans to our campus for an afternoon of food, fellowship, and community.”
